PatientPoint — Healthcare Platform Services

Product Management — Digital Health  |  2013 – 2015

Doctors had enough on their plate. The last thing they needed was more data without actionable direction. And patients were already under stress — the last thing they needed was a clinical interface that felt like homework. So we designed for both: give doctors insights that let them spend more time talking to their patients instead of reading charts, and give patients an experience that was calmer, clearer, and even a little bit enjoyable.

The Company

PatientPoint operates the nation's largest network of digital screens in healthcare settings — delivering tailored health content to patients during their visits across doctors' offices, hospitals, and health systems. When I joined, the goal was to extend that platform beyond the waiting room and into the full patient care continuum.

Coordinated Care Solutions

We built Coordinated Care Solutions — a mobile-enabled health IT solution designed to automate communication and track patient engagement across the entire care continuum. Not an EHR replacement, but a communications engine that bridges what happens in the clinic with how patients manage their care at home.

We consolidated and interfaced data from three of the top five EHRs to coordinate care for thousands of patients across the network — giving care teams a unified view that didn't require them to log into multiple systems.

Prescriptive Patient Health Engine

This is the piece I'm most proud of technically. We anonymized patient data into a warehouse and used it to build a prescriptive layer — surfacing suggestions to caregivers based on lookalike patient profiles. Not an algorithm making diagnoses. A tool that gave doctors a second angle to check their thinking against, backed by real pattern data from across the network. The doctor still makes the call. We just made sure they had more to work with.

Medical Education Record System

We also built what became the largest combined medical education record system in the country — aggregating content from Mayo Clinic, Cancer.org, the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association, and other major health authorities into a single, authoritative source.

This powered the educational tablets patients used in rehab centers, clinical settings, and during physical therapy — giving them trustworthy, condition-specific information at exactly the moment they needed it. The content was sourced from the most respected names in medicine. The experience was designed to feel like talking to someone who knew what they were talking about, not reading a pamphlet.

Data Warehouse Consolidation

Designed the product roadmap for consolidating PatientPoint's disparate data sources into a unified warehouse — the foundation that made the prescriptive health engine possible. Clean data in, useful prescriptions out.

CMMI Audit Procedures

Implemented CMMI audit procedures to bring engineering and product processes into compliance with industry quality standards. In healthcare, process maturity isn't bureaucracy — it's patient safety.
